Ministry of Culture and Tourism is Being Closed!
The tourism sector was expecting the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to be divided into 'culture' and 'tourism', but according to the latest determination, it was reported that the ministry would be closed altogether.

The ruling party is preparing to restructure the ministries with the Decree Laws. It is stated that in these restructurings, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism will be closed and the 'culture' department will be transferred to the Ministry of National Education, and the 'tourism' department will be transferred to the Ministry of Finance, Economy Development, all three of which will be gathered together.
Along with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of European Union (EU), the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Customs and Trade, the Ministry of Development, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs will be closed. The powers and responsibilities of many ministries, especially the economy, will increase.
So what does the tourism industry think about the closure of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism?
TÜROFED President Osman Ayık said that it would be wrong for Türkiye to close the ministry at a time when tourism is becoming increasingly important and countries are opening tourism ministries. And he continued his words as follows: "Instead of abolishing the ministry now, it is necessary to make some legal regulations that will strengthen the hand of the ministry. "If the ministry is closed, it means that something is being done contrary to the general trend in the world.
Indeed, all countries that are at the same level as ours in tourism or have a developing tourism structure have a Ministry of Tourism.
Similarly, Hakan Duran, President of the Professional Hotel Managers Association (POYD), and Firuz Bağlıkaya, President of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies, whose short name is TÜRSAB, emphasized that it should not be closed.
The tourism sector seems to agree that it should not be closed. We will see in the coming days whether only the restructuring decision will be approved or whether it will be closed altogether.
